I drew the head of a cat and then folded it over so no one could see what it was. Then Mikaela drew a sheep's body on my head. In the end, Nikita drew a mermaid's tail and when I opened it up, I got such a fantastic surprise. I named my animal Cat-eep-maid.
I am a Year 7 student at Saint Patrick's School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 7 and my teacher is Mr Bell.

Manaiakalani Film Festival- by desiree
Last Wednesday we went to the Manaiakalani Film festival to watch our St Patrick's School movies. We went on a bus to the Sylvia Park movie house. We watched 23 Films festival and they were St Patrick's School, Panmure Bridge, Tamaki Collage and Point England School. We had to go into our houses and go with a partner to look after them at the Sylvia Park movie house.
My partner was Leonie she came on the the same bus. I was excited to go to the Sylvia park to watch all the different School's. My favorite one was the Tamaki Collage when they went to the beach and they saw heaps fish's in the sea. They said that it was so scarey to look at the fishes. I saw a yellow and blue fish on the Tamaki College movie.

planting our vegetable garden- Desiree
On the 18th October 2019 we went to plant our vegetable garden, so that we can be very healthy when we finally eat them fresh.
My teacher said that all of my classmates have to carry 1 pack of planting vegetables to the garden.
Then we dug small holes using spades and and gently we put the plant inside.
I saw some earthworms which are good for the garden.
Now we have to watch the plants grow until we can take them out and eat them. They need lots of water and sunshine.

Smart Relationship qualities
Cybertsmart
Today Mrs Collins was teaching us about smart Relationship qualities. We had to get into groups and I was with Frances. We had to plan for ten minutes how we could make the tallest tower with 12 spaghetti sticks and 8 marshmallow pillows. Me and Frances were getting better at it.
After morning tea we were given the 12 spaghetti and 8 marshmallows. Frances and I kept changing our tower and we only had 10 minutes.
After that Mrs Collins took photos and measured everyone's tower. Ours was 17cm but Sione's group won. We learned that we have to talk about it while we are going.

My Digital Footprints
My Digital Foot Prints
When Miss Collins came to our class she said to us that we are going to find our Digital Footprints. This means how good we are with games and videos on the internet. When we were finished our Digital Footprints Mrs Collins looked at them and my footprint is 50% which is very good.

Catholic School Day
On Tuesday St Pius X and St Ignatius schools celebrated with us at mass. It was a special day for Catholic schools everywhere. At church we were singing altogether with them and it was sometimes loud.
After Mass me and my class went inside and had lunch because it was lunchtime. When we finished our lunch we were talking to our friends and cousins. We were sad when they had to go back to their buses because we wanted to do sports with them.

Tika, Pono, Aroha
Tika, Pono, Aroha
We have been learning about how Jesus respected tapu (sacredness) in people. Like when he spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well and also being around the man with leprosy. These people were hated by the other people and couldn't be friends with them. Jesus showed care about what other people thought, he just cared and showed aroha.
I feel aroha in my heart when I make my Nan a cup of tea and go with her for lunch at the coffee shop with cupcakes and sandwiches.
When I show kindness to my Nan and my friends it is sharing pono,Tika, and Aroha.

Kindness
We did this in Cybersmart because kindness is very important and so is love and also when someone say's kind things to you just say thank you very much. I learnt all about kindness and that when we watched Oat the goat he chose to be kind and that Amos was very sad, but happy in the end.
