Bird of the year

A Hoiho is a penguin in Maori and this is the bird of the year. Did you know that a Hoiho penguin has yellow eyes? A Hoiho penguin is on the five dollar note so people in new Zealand might know it and talk about it. They also like to eat fish like squid.

planting our vegetable garden- Desiree

On the 18th October 2019  we went to plant our vegetable garden, so that we can be very healthy when we finally eat them fresh.
My teacher said that all of my classmates have to carry 1 pack of planting vegetables to the garden.
Then we dug small holes using spades and and gently we put the plant inside.
I saw some earthworms which are good for the garden.
Now we have to watch the plants grow until we can take them out and eat them. They need lots of water and sunshine.

Smart Relationship qualities

                                        Cybertsmart
Today Mrs Collins was teaching us about smart Relationship qualities. We had to get into groups and I was with Frances. We had to plan for ten minutes how we could make the tallest tower with 12 spaghetti sticks and 8 marshmallow pillows. Me and Frances were getting better at it.
After morning tea we were given the 12 spaghetti and 8 marshmallows. Frances and I kept changing our tower and we only had 10 minutes.

After that Mrs Collins took photos and measured everyone's tower. Ours was 17cm but Sione's group won. We learned that we have to talk about it while we are going.

                 My Digital Foot Prints

When Miss Collins came to our class she said to us that we are going to find our Digital Footprints. This means how good we are with games and videos on the internet. When we were finished our Digital Footprints Mrs Collins looked at them and my footprint is 50% which is very good.
